Vincent Murphy is a business strategy and supply chain consultant, having established a specialty practice after a long and successful corporate career. He is a veteran of the retail, consumer packaged goods and beverage businesses, and has built brands, organizations and market share for leading companies in each of those sectors. His diverse experience includes merchandise importing and store management in the fashion and promotional retailing industries, brand management in the mass grocery and drug channels, and marketing and strategic sourcing in the adult drinks arena.
Murphy has held a variety of senior executive roles, progressing through brand marketing, customer marketing and finally strategic sourcing. He has overseen regional procurement teams managing spend in excess of $1 billion, with direct accountabilities across North America and Latin America, and project team roles significantly influencing global sourcing strategies and spend initiatives in Europe and South Africa. His wealth of experience and insights encompass marketing services, professional services, and packaging design and manufacturing. Within these areas he has developed and implemented best practices in supply chain category strategy, supplier search and qualification, contracting, supplier performance management, risk management, corporate reputation management, and codes and policies compliance. Clients of his consulting practice, ProCeritas Consulting LLC, have benefited from application of these practices, particularly regarding supplier/customer relationships and organization design and development.
Murphy holds a BA in business administration from Michigan State University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a board member of the Norwalk Community College Foundation supporting the college’s student scholarships and strategic initiatives, and is chair of its Entrepreneurship Task Force. He is also a trustee of the Optimus Foundation arm of Optimus Health Care, a provider of community health services in southwest Connecticut, and serves as the Foundation’s treasurer.
