Michael Nicastro

Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mike Nicastro is chief executive officer and director of New Haven–based Continuity, a financial technology company providing compliance management solutions in the growing RegTech sector. He is also the owner and principal of Coppermine Advisors, LLC, a firm offering services such as strategic plan development, capital acquisition, M&A and succession planning.

Nicastro retired as senior vice president and CMO of Open Solutions Inc., a company he helped launch in 1994. Responsible for OSI’s entire product strategy, he was involved in every phase of the company’s growth, including 20-plus acquisitions, a 2003 IPO and a private equity sale in 2007 valued at $1.4 billion.

Nicastro also served as SVP and CMO of COCC, president and CEO of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, and product manager with the Data Services Division of the NCR Corporation, and he worked with Bristol Savings Bank New York–based Citicorp.

He currently serves on the board of Simsbury Bank & Trust and has served for 10 years as a member of the governing board of the Tony Award–winning Hartford Stage Company. An Eagle Scout, Nicastro is the immediate past board chairman of the Connecticut Rivers Council, BSA. He also serves as a director/treasurer of American Clock & Watch Museum. Nicastro is a past member of the board of Charter Oak State College, as well as a past president and director of the Association for Financial Technology.

Mike is Entrepreneur in Residence and a member of the adjunct faculty at the CCSU School of Business. He has been a guest lecturer at Yale University’s School of Management and served on the Technology Incubation Program Committee of the University of Connecticut. Mike earned his B.S. in business from Central Connecticut State University and a J.S. from Western New England University’s School of Law.
