A program associate at CTNext, Julia manages the administration of several CTNext programs and resources including our Higher Education & Entrepreneurship Fund. This fund provides financial support for cooperative partnerships between Connecticut colleges and universities focused on three goals:
- Providing mentoring support to faculty and student entrepreneurs and companies
- Promoting innovation and technology transfer in the state’s key industries
- Developing and retaining technology talent
Julia also coordinates the activities of the Higher Education Advisory Committee, a group charged with advising the CTNext Board of Directors on funding initiatives that foster collaboration among institutions of higher education and strengthen institutional capacity as it relates to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Other programs Julia oversees include the Governor’s Innovation Fellowship (GIF) and Technology Talent Bridge (TTB). GIF is a pilot program launched in 2020 to help direct top academic talent to quality positions in early-stage companies. The program is currently focused on the Stamford area, with plans to expand across the state in years ahead.
Technology Talent Bridge is a program that matches high-achieving college students in STEM disciplines with innovation-based Connecticut startups for internship positions with long-term employment potential, providing funding support to aid in recruitment. Julia coordinates connections between qualified companies and higher education career development offices, and manages the application and selection process. Julia earned a Bachelor of Science in 2019 from Southern Connecticut State University in Political Science. She is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law.
