Dr. Hadi Bozorgmanesh is an entrepreneur and innovator with over 35 years’ experience in high-technology business leadership. Over the course of his career, he has led high-tech business development initiatives worth more than $500M, leading and growing companies such as SAIC Europe, for which he was the chairman and CEO, and SAIC, as the senior vice president for corporate development. Dr. Bozorgmanesh’s technology innovations led to new instruments used in transportation, security, energy, mining and nuclear industries. In 2010, he began a second career at the University of Connecticut, where he applies his formidable talents and experience to cultivate the next generation of science and technology entrepreneurs. At UConn, Dr. Bozorgmanesh teaches a graduate course in entrepreneurship that has helped launch more than 20 startup companies, and he has been awarded competitive grants to support student and faculty startups. As co–executive director of the UConn Entrepreneurship and Innovation Consortium and a professor of practice in the UConn School of Engineering, Dr. Bozorgmanesh has been instrumental in establishing programs that promote economic development by connecting university technology resources to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
Dr. Bozorgmanesh is a Laureate of the Aviation Week and Space Technology Hall of Fame, a recipient of the University of Michigan Nuclear Science and Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award, and a member of the UConn Academy of Distinguished Engineers.
He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering and an M.S. in physics from the University of Connecticut, and an M.S. in physics and nuclear engineering and a Ph.D. in nuclear science and engineering from the University of Michigan.
