An academic and career pathway helping to ensure an educated workforce for Connecticut’s growing bioscience sector.
New Haven and its surrounding towns are one of the nation’s hottest bioscience centers, with more than 1,000 bioscience companies spawned in the past 20 years. As the need for educated research and science workers grows, what will we do to ensure the pipeline remains sufficiently filled?
The Biopath academic initiative is a partnership of higher education institutions led by Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU), the City of New Haven, multiple employers and industry partners and the State of Connecticut through CTNext’s Innovation Places organization, the New Haven Innovation Collaborative.
Biopath is a comprehensive initiative addressing a spectrum of workforce development needs: an industry-driven STEM curriculum, career support, job placement, academic opportunity for mid-career workers, internships, and most importantly, numerous research experiences on-campus and in companies. Biopath graduates are ready for productive employment upon graduation, whether they’re enrolled in post-graduate, undergraduate, or certificate programs.
