$10,000 Winners Include Floe, Junity and ReCore Medical
Hartford, CT (September 29, 2020) – CTNext, Connecticut’s go-to resource for entrepreneurs and innovators, awarded grants to three early-stage Connecticut companies at the most recent Entrepreneur Innovation Awards (EIA), held virtually Wednesday, September 23rd. Following presentations from nine finalists, the judges awarded $10,000 grand prizes to the following companies:
- Floe, New Haven, an intelligent alternative system for melting snow and ice on roofs
- Junity (Momentum Foundation), Glastonbury, creator of an app to help youth connect with social, educational and support services, resources and counsel
- ReCore Medical, New Haven, manufacturers of a reusable core needle biopsy test
In addition, Floe won the $2,000 Judges’ Favorite Award and the $2,000 Crowd Favorite Award. (Voting for the Crowd Favorite took place online on September 24 and 25 at ctnext.com.) Junity also took home the inaugural $2,000 Impact Award, chosen as the company most likely to have the greatest social impact.
The three winning companies, all of which are Connecticut-based, were among nine startups that presented their project ideas to a panel of judges for an opportunity to secure $10,000 awards to help support business growth.
