Applications now due January 15, 2020; new benefits announced
Rocky Hill, CT – December 19, 2019 – CTNext is looking for startup companies that are poised for growth, but need access to some specialized, quality expertise to accelerate to the next level. The CTNext Mentor Network was launched last year to help ready-to-scale companies find the guidance they need from some of the state’s most experienced mentors, and after a successful first cohort, the state’s top resource for entrepreneurs is now accepting applications for its Winter 2020 group of companies.
As a number of companies have asked us to extend our deadline because of the demands of the holiday season, applications for selection in the Winter 2020 cohort of the CTNext Mentor Network are now due on January 15th, 2020. (The original deadline was December 20 – this Friday.)
The 2020 Mentor Network will offer the same access to top-level managerial and specialized expert professionals (e.g., finance, marketing, operations) as last year’s program. And this year, we’ve added two new benefits:
Companies in the Winter 2020 cohort can qualify for access to capital from a new funding program designed for the Mentor Network.
Members of the cohort will also be eligible for support from an executive-in-residence (EIR) program being launched by CTNext in coordination with Connecticut Innovations, which could supply specialized expertise on an ongoing basis.
If you’re interested in this unprecedented opportunity, you can apply here. With the new extended deadline, you have until 5PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 to apply. For more information, visit www.ctnext.com/mentor-network, or call Rachel Ferreira at 860-258-7872 (email email@example.com).
The Mentor Network was launched last year in recognition that a number of smart, high-potential companies with strong leadership were at a point where the lack of access to expertise in specific areas – attracting new capital, operational management, manufacturing, talent recruitment, marketing or some other key management function – was the major obstacle to accelerating their growth. CTNext’s Mentor Network is designed to match these promising companies with the mentorship they need to make that leap.
Companies that apply must have:
- a product or digital service already launched or in test;
- a significant value proposition;
- a large market opportunity; and
- a strong management team.
CTNext mentors works with select entrepreneurs to help define their long-term vision, develop customer acquisition and capital-raising strategies, improve operational efficiency and attract talent. Companies are given the opportunity to get objective feedback and guidance on growing a company; to learn about other resources, tools and programming; to become part of a community of like-minded people; and to increase their own network connections.
CTNext is Connecticut’s go-to resource for entrepreneurial support. The goal of the program is to build a more robust community of entrepreneurs and to accelerate startup growth by providing access to talent, space, industry expertise, services, skill development and capital to foster innovation and create jobs for people in Connecticut. CTNext has more than 3,000 members in its network. To learn more, visit www.ctnext.com.
