CTNext Opens Application Process for Higher Education Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund, Seeking Proposals That Will Enhance Collaboration Across State’s Institutions

Informational webinar to be held on September 7

Rocky Hill, Conn. – August 28, 2017 – CTNext, Connecticut’s go-to resource for entrepreneurial support and administrator of the Higher Education Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund, today announced that it is now accepting applications for funding initiatives that foster collaboration among institutions of higher education and strengthen institutional capacity as it relates to innovation and entrepreneurship. The two-step process begins with applicants submitting a “Request For Information” for review by CTNext, with appropriate candidates who meet requirements then invited to complete the “Request For Proposal.”

CTNext will host an informational webinar on Thursday, September 7, to provide additional guidance to prospective applicants. The application form, complete guidelines, requirements and additional background information are currently available on the CTNext website.

“We have officially begun executing against the Higher Education Master Plan and working toward establishing greater collaboration and cohesion among our state’s higher educational institutions,” said Glendowlyn Thames, Executive Director, CTNext. “Connecticut’s educational institutions are rich in resources and talent, and we are eager to hear the proposals and ideas that will create a stronger link and drive innovation and business opportunity across the state.”

In opening the application process, the Higher Education Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee begins its search for opportunities to support programs that establish sustainable relationships and lasting partnerships among the state’s higher education institutions while also creating lasting value through increased student attraction and retention, stronger alumni connections and expanded roles as economic and community anchors. CTNext administers and monitors the initiative and will review applications, allocate funds, and prepare and execute agreements for successful applications.
