CTNext Announces Entrepreneur Innovation Award Finalists

Program has supported 44 promising early-stage companies with nearly $450,000 since 2013

Rocky Hill, Conn. – Sept. 13, 2016CTNext, Connecticut’s go-to resource for entrepreneurial support, today announced the finalists for its tenth Entrepreneur Innovation Awards (EIA), a competitive pitch event designed to help Connecticut’s promising early-stage companies develop their ideas and get products to market faster.

The Shark Tank-style finals event, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 15 at Bill Miller’s Castle in Branford, will feature 10 finalists who will compete for $10,000 grants for innovative projects.

The finalists include:

  • Asarasi, Inc. (Cos Cob)
  • Bariatric Collar, LLC (Mansfield)
  • Eureeka (New Britain)
  • EZ ICE, Inc. (New Haven)
  • GinzVelo, LLC (West Hartford)
  • Lucca Ventures Inc.(Southington)
  • Medframe, LLC (Storrs)
  • MindNest Health (New Haven)
  • Pelletric, LLC (Norwalk)
  • TruckHike (Waterbury)

To be eligible for the EIA, startups must be CTNext members based in Connecticut and looking to conduct growth-related activities to help advance their business. Since launching in 2013, the CTNext EIA program has awarded $446,000 to 44 companies across Connecticut.

  • Mike Roer, The Entrepreneurship Foundation
