CTNext Announces Entrepreneur Innovation Award Finalists

10 Connecticut companies pitch at Yale School of Management’s Zhang Theatre on June 10 for a chance to win $10,000 grants for innovative project ideas

Rocky Hill, Conn., June 1, 2015 – CTNext, Connecticut’s innovation ecosystem managed by Connecticut Innovations, today announced the finalists for the upcoming Entrepreneur Innovation Awards (EIA) to be held on Wednesday, June 10, at the at Zhang Theatre, located at Evan’s Hall at the Yale School of Management, in New Haven, Conn.

The finalists, who are Connecticut-based companies and entrepreneurs, will present their innovative project ideas at a Shark-Tank-style event for an opportunity to secure awards of up to $10,000.

The finalists selected by an outside review committee include:

To be eligible for the EIA, startups must be Connecticut-based, registered as CTNext members, and looking to conduct growth-related activities to help advance their business. Project examples include but are not limited to: prototyping, performance testing, compliance testing, product or service development, market research, licensing, and more. Since CTNext launched the Entrepreneur Innovation Awards in February 2014, $250,000 has been awarded to innovative projects in the state. CTNext was established by Governor Malloy and private-sector leaders in the 2011 Connecticut Jobs Bill to support the state’s most promising entrepreneurs and startup companies.
